About the Role:
We are excited for a new Cost Controller in Denmark to join our fast-growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for cost control in the local market, working closely with Construction Managers, Project Managers, and suppliers to ensure the financial management of our projects is aligned with company goals.
Your responsibilities will include developing, analyzing, and managing project budgets, ensuring they are aligned with strategic objectives. You will conduct detailed cost analysis, tracking actual spending versus budgets and forecasts to identify opportunities for cost savings and accurate cashflow predictions. Additionally, you will collaborate with teams to provide financial forecasting and prepare regular performance reports for senior management. You will also make procurement within MSAs and conduct purchase orders in close collaboration with procurement department.
This role will allow you to implement process improvements to drive greater efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and risk management to minimize financial exposure. You will monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity for operational needs, while also acting as the financial point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
The position is based in Denmark, but cost control responsibilities extend beyond Denmark. As a result, occasional travel may be required.
As a Cost Controller you will be part of the rock’n’roll development team.
About You:
You are an experienced controller, ideally with a background as an engineer or economist, and have extensive experience in the construction industry. You work closely with construction teams, suppliers, project managers and procurement, and have a strong ability to calculate and budget for construction projects. You can understand project details, and create accurate estimates based on early designs.
You have a solid understanding of the construction process and can create budgets from initial design sketches. You are also familiar with construction methods and know what drives project costs. Preferably, you have a degree in civil engineering or a similar field, and you bring expertise in managing costs and budgets in a construction environment.
You are diplomatic, have excellent interpersonal skills, and can work independently while effectively collaborating with teams. You’re analytical, flexible, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, always looking for ways to improve processes and ensure financial efficiency in projects.
Requirements:
- University Degree in Engineering, Finance or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in cost controlling or investment controlling, preferably within the construction industry.
- Ability to work closely with construction teams, suppliers, project managers, and procurement
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with BI tools is a plus.
- Ability to interpret design sketches and create estimates and budgets.
- Excellent English communication skills; a Nordic language is a plus.
