HSE Director
Lead our HSE culture across data centres. Build engagement, drive compliance, and create safe, practical ways of working—together.
We’re looking for a hands-on, collaborative HSE Director to lead and drive our Health, Safety, and Environmental agenda across our data centre operations and development projects.
As our HSE Director, you’ll play a key role in building a strong HSE culture, leading a team of direct and indirect employees, and ensuring safe, compliant, and practical ways of working across all sites. This is a leadership role with a strong operational focus—you’ll be part of the action, actively participating in HSE improvements, checks, and driving the pace we need.
About the role:
Leading and mentoring a team of HSE professionals across our sites and development projects, working closely with General Contractors
Fostering engagement and involvement of both employees and contractors to create a solid, proactive HSE culture
Developing and deploying an HSE roadmap based on current maturity, identifying areas for improvement, and driving progress through collaboration, training, and continuous learning
Following up, revising, and evolving the roadmap together with your team, management, and stakeholders
Partnering with Ops Directors and site leaders to build HSE capabilities, awareness, and a practical skillset
Training, coaching, and empowering the HSE team—and supporting them in rolling out training across the wider organization
Promoting cross-functional collaboration, ensuring consistent implementation of best practices across all sites
Actively participating in site activities, checks, and hands-on improvements—this is not a desk-only role!
About you:
Strong and broad HSE experience, ideally from data centres or similar environments, with knowledge of electrical hazards and lock-tag-verify
A collaborative and proactive approach, with a solid understanding of “Human Performance” principles
The ability to strike the right balance between strict compliance and practical, efficient, safe procedures that work in reality
Proven experience in improving and aligning compliance programs to international standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
Leadership skills with a willingness to be hands-on and part of the daily action
Fluency in English; Icelandic, Danish, or Finnish is a plus
Where you’ll be:
This role is preferably based in Finland, but could also be in Iceland (Reykjavik), Denmark (Copenhagen), or Sweden (Stockholm). Regular travel (2-4 times per month) is expected.
