atNorth is expanding its operations in Fitjar, Reykjanesbær, and is looking for a dynamic, experienced professional for the role of Health & Safety Officer with experience and education in electrical work. The role will also include tasks related to electrical systems.
This is a permanent, full-time position and is open to all genders.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Prepare plans, improvements, and follow-up actions related to deviations and work processes
- Carry out safety inspections and audits, with a focus on electrical safety
- Lead, train, and support employees on safety matters, with an emphasis on low- and high-voltage systems
- Conduct risk assessment and classify risks
- Handle installation, supervision, and maintenance of electrical systems
- Contribute to continuous improvement and development of safety procedures and methods in close collaboration with employees and contractors
Education and Skills Requirements
- Education and experience in electrical work / electrical engineering
- Other education relevant to the role is an advantage
- Solid experience with health, safety, and/or environmental projects
- Knowledge of laws and regulations related to workplace safety
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership skills, organizational ability, and accuracy
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Detail-oriented and well-organized work approach
