Commissioning Engineer
Join atNorth as a Commissioning Engineer in Iceland! Ensure top-quality, sustainable data center delivery through expert commissioning and technical excellence.
We are now looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our Iceland team — a key role ensuring that every project meets atNorth’s strict quality, safety, and performance standards. If you have a passion for technical excellence and a drive to contribute to sustainable infrastructure, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Purpose of the Role
The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for delivering reliable and compliant commissioning (Cx) support on data center projects in Iceland. Working closely with the atNorth Commissioning Manager, this role ensures that commissioning activities adhere to the company’s standards and processes, as defined in the atNorth Commissioning Manual.
The position combines commissioning oversight with OFCI (Owner-Furnished Contractor-Installed) QA/QC responsibilities and support for the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) platform.
Main Areas of Responsibility
Commissioning
Report to the atNorth Commissioning Manager (CxM) and flag any potential issues to the CxM and Delivery team.
Review design documentation and technical submittals to understand project scope and requirements.
Ensure all stakeholders follow atNorth’s Commissioning Manual and test script procedures.
Attend and contribute to all commissioning meetings.
Support the development of atNorth’s ACC test script library as directed by the Cx Manager.
Collaborate with the Commissioning Authority (CxA) throughout the project.
Review and sign off on L2/L3 test scripts, in alignment with the CxA scope agreement.
OFCI Vendor Oversight
Attend Factory Witness Tests (FWT) and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) conducted in Iceland.
Conduct equipment delivery inspections and witness assembly and Red Tag testing.
Perform Yellow Tag inspections and First-of-a-Kind testing.
Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Support
Oversee use of the ACC platform to ensure compliance with atNorth’s ACC Manual.
Raise and manage issues within ACC.
Support asset and system creation in coordination with the Commissioning Manager.
Project Delivery Support
Review the general contractor’s commissioning, energisation, and load banking plans.
Track and review commissioning schedules, including Red, Yellow, and Green tag milestones.
About you:
Strong computer literacy: Microsoft 365 and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical design drawings.
Understanding of construction processes and best-practice quality standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Applicants with HVAC or electrical certifications require a minimum of 5 years of experience.
At least 3 years of experience in construction and/or commissioning.
Good understanding of controls and monitoring systems.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken, Icelandic being a strong merit.
Background check is conducted to all our employees.
