Project Manager at atNorth
We are looking for a hands-on Project Manager, Construction to join atNorth and lead the delivery of large-scale data centre projects in Sollefteå.
This role is highly operational and suited for someone who enjoys being close to the site, driving daily execution, and ensuring progress on safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
You will manage general contractors and specialist suppliers, coordinate closely with internal teams, especially Operations and Procurement and work with external authorities.
The role also includes overseeing technical upgrades in live data centre environments and supporting final project handovers.
This is a key position within atNorth’s Development organisation and an opportunity to contribute directly to the expansion of sustainable, high-performance data centre infrastructure in Sweden and across the Nordics.
Key responsibilities:
Project Delivery
Manage the full pre-construction and construction lifecycle, from tendering to completion.
Lead contractor selection processes, including PQQs, design & build proposal evaluations, and contract negotiations.
Oversee enabling works, demolition tenders, and Early Works Agreements (EWA).
Drive design coordination and procurement for critical infrastructure such as 110kV substations and Long Lead Equipment (LLE).
Manage relationships with adjacent property owners and local authorities to ensure smooth construction logistics.
Recruit and manage project supervisors and consultants throughout the project phases.
Live Environment Management
Oversee critical infrastructure upgrade projects
Ensure contractor adherence to safety, schedule, and quality standards.
Coordinate installation and commissioning of key systems such as EPODs, generators, and busbars with minimal disruption to live operations.
Lead specialized projects such as heat recovery initiatives from contract signing through commissioning and handover.
Schedule & Cost Management
Develop and maintain detailed, linked construction schedules in collaboration with atNorth’s scheduler and contractors.
Ensure timely delivery of all projects from initiation to handover.
Manage procurement processes and cost control in collaboration with the Commercial and Procurement teams.
Oversee contract approvals, claims, monthly reporting, and cash flow forecasting.
Quality & Commissioning
Ensure full compliance with atNorth’s quality standards, project quality manual, and standard commissioning procedures.
Guarantee that all works are completed in accordance with approved designs and documentation.
Collaboration & Business Support
Work closely with internal teams such as Design, Operations, Security, and Procurement.
Support the Bid and Sales teams with project data, projections, and documentation for new opportunities.
Prepare reports and presentations for management, stakeholders, and external partners.
Your profile:
You are a technically skilled and detail-oriented project manager with strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
You have experience managing large-scale construction projects in Sweden and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
You’re comfortable balancing multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of delivery and compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience managing large-scale construction projects, ideally in the data center industry.
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems, infrastructure design, and power generation.
Proven experience with turnkey general contractors, procurement, and project scheduling.
Fluent in English and Swedish.
This role requires continuous on-site presence in Sollefteå.
Direct experience with data center construction or technical upgrades in live environments.
Familiarity with Swedish construction regulations and contract standards.
Experience in contract negotiation, commercial claim reviews, and budget management.
Professional certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2.
