Nordic HSE Engineer at atNorth
At atNorth, we build and operate critical infrastructure for the digital future. As a Nordic HSE Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring our Nordic data center sites and projects operate safely, sustainably, and in full compliance with legal and ISO requirements. Working closely with site, project, and contractor teams, you will support the practical implementation of atNorth’s HSE framework and help embed strong safety and environmental practices into daily operations.
Key responsibilities:
Apply and support atNorth’s HSE policies, procedures, and Integrated Management System (IMS) across sites and projects
Help embed strong occupational health, safety and environmental practices into daily operations
Maintain accurate site-level HSE documentation, records, and evidence to support audits and compliance
Support internal and external HSE audits, inspections, and site walks, including follow-up of corrective actions
Prepare and support task-based risk assessments, method statements, and management of change activities
Monitor daily site activities to verify implementation of risk controls and promote safe behaviors
Support incident reporting and investigations, ensuring lessons learned are shared and actions are effective
Contribute to emergency preparedness activities, including drills and equipment checks
Support HSE inductions, toolbox talks, briefings, and awareness initiatives for employees and contractors
Assist with contractor prequalification, inductions, and monitoring of permit-to-work and safe systems of work
Capture and report HSE performance data to support continuous improvement
Your profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or similar, or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of hands-on HSE experience, ideally from construction, industrial, or data center environments
Solid understanding of HSE risk management, audits, and operational safety practices
Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and reports
Confident communicator, able to engage with employees, contractors, and site management
Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working across multiple sites and stakeholders
Fluency in English; knowledge of Nordic language(s) is an advantage
HSE-related certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, national OHS card) and First Aid certification are considered a plus
