Nordic Health, Safety & Environment Engineer at atNorth
Are you passionate about safety, sustainability and operational excellence? Join atNorth and support safe, compliant and efficient operations across our Nordic sites and projects. In this hands-on role, you will help implement and maintain our HSE framework, ensure compliance with legal and ISO requirements, and actively contribute to building a strong safety culture across the organisation.
Key responsibilities:
Apply and support atNorth’s HSE policies and Integrated Management System (IMS) in daily operations
Maintain accurate HSE documentation, records and evidence at site level
Support internal and external audits and ensure follow-up of corrective actions
Prepare and support risk assessments, method statements and management of change activities
Monitor and verify implementation of risk controls and promote safe behaviours on site
Participate in inspections, site walks and ensure findings are addressed and closed
Support incident reporting, investigations and ensure learnings are implemented across sites
Contribute to emergency preparedness activities, including drills and readiness checks
Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, briefings and provide HSE guidance to employees, contractors and visitors
Support contractor compliance, including prequalification, permits to work and safe systems of work
Assist with environmental management, including monitoring impacts and maintaining records
Capture HSE data and contribute to reporting and performance follow-up
Actively intervene in unsafe situations, including stopping work where required, and initiate corrective actions
Your profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, Engineering or similar, or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of hands-on HSE experience, ideally in construction, industrial or data center environments
Strong understanding of HSE practices, risk management, auditing and operational safety
Experience supporting audits, inspections and incident investigations
High attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting skills
Confident communicator with the ability to influence behaviours and collaborate across teams
Proactive, structured and team-oriented way of working
Fluent in English; local language skills are an advantage
Relevant certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, OHS card, First Aid or similar) are considered an asset
