The role
As an HPC Infrastructure (Expert/Specialist) , you will be instrumental in supporting atNorth's HPC team by implementing and maintaining sophisticated HPC infrastructure for our clients. Your responsibilities will span various domains, emphasizing development in design, testing, implementation, and system operation of computing environments. A crucial aspect of your role involves collaborating with senior colleagues to guarantee and enhance the infrastructure solution used for customer environment installations, with a particular emphasis on security and automation. This includes overseeing the management of InfiniBand, network, and storage solutions. You and your colleagues ensure that the infrastructure is robust, efficient, and secure.
Your key responsibilities encompass various tasks, including:
- Assisting in the design, testing, and implementation of advanced HPC infrastructure.
- System administration and monitoring of computing environments.
- Ensuring smooth integration of provisioning systems, as well as InfiniBand network and storage solutions, in collaboration with colleagues.
- Close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
- Contributing to continuous development for the success of our customers.
The role requires extensive communication and collaboration. As an HPC Infrastructure expert, you will work closely with senior colleagues to ensure project delivery within set timelines. This role is pivotal, serving as a key resource that supports and learns from senior colleagues.
Is this you?
To excel in this role, it is essential that you possess fundamental knowledge and a keen interest in Linux System Administration. A technical college degree in computer science, informatics, or a related field is likely, especially if you are a recent graduate. Additionally, you should understand cloud solutions, basic knowledge of virtualization systems, computing hardware platforms, network administration, and data storage design across different types.
Proficiency in spoken and written English
We believe you are familiar with some combination of the following toolkits:
- Ansible, KVM, Kolla, OpenStack, Ironic, InfiniBand, and CEPH storage
- Kubernetes
- Network administration(SR Linux, Cisco, Cumulus)
- Linux system administration
- Software for monitoring data center devices or similar, along with API integration and software interfaces.
