Power Manager, Site Selection

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Power Connections Manager to join our growing team and play a key role in securing and managing high-voltage power connections for our expanding Nordic data center portfolio. In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of grid connection processes—from initial feasibility analysis to securing capacity and signing connection agreements—ensuring our projects move smoothly from site selection to construction readiness.
You will act as atNorth’s go-to expert for power availability, working closely with local transmission and distribution operators, consultants, and internal teams. This position requires a mix of technical insight, regulatory knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse power availability for new site opportunities, in collaboration with Design Managers and local consultants.
Manage TDD, LDD, and risk processes related to power connection options.
Oversee the application process for power capacity, ensuring all prerequisites are met before capacity is reserved.
Handle the full Connection Agreement process with local authorities, from application to signature.
Act as primary liaison with local TSOs and regional DSOs, maintaining strong and productive relationships.
Ensure successful internal handover to subsequent project phases.
Support the Site Selection team in identifying and evaluating new development opportunities, aligning with business goals and sustainability commitments.
Conduct market research and competitive benchmarking to inform expansion strategies.
Analyse power availability for new site operations, in collaboration with local Site Selection Managers, Design Managers and local consultants.
Manage contracts related to grid connection agreements.
About You
You are a technically skilled and highly organised professional with deep knowledge of high-voltage grid connections and regulatory processes. You combine engineering insight with the ability to navigate permitting, contract negotiations, and stakeholder relationships. You thrive in dynamic environments, adapt quickly to change, and have a proactive, can-do mindset.
To succeed in this role, you bring:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, project management, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of high-voltage connection principles and related engineering aspects.
Knowledge of legal principles, contract language, and regulatory frameworks for grid connections.
Experience in land permitting processes for HV projects.
Proven track record in infrastructure expansion, commercial real estate, or data center development.
Project management expertise and structured delivery skills.
Proficiency in Finnish and English.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to simplify complex issues.
Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Flexibility to travel frequently across the Nordics, sometimes outside regular business hours.
Where You’ll Be
This role is preferably based in Finland, with frequent travel across the Nordics.
