Nordic Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) at atNorth
We are seeking an experienced Nordic Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to play a key role in ensuring operational excellence across our data center sites in the Nordic region.
As the mechanical systems expert, you will oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of critical infrastructure systems, while driving standardization and efficiency across our locations.
In this role, you’ll work directly with site teams to support design reviews, commissioning, and project audits. You will be a vital link in ensuring seamless project handovers to operations, maintaining system integrity and compliance throughout.
This position offers a unique blend of hands-on technical leadership and strategic oversight within our growing Nordic network.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical systems, including chillers, evaporative/DX cooling, and water distribution.
Manage and optimize emergency diesel generators and fire suppression systems to ensure 24/7 reliability.
Collaborate on design reviews, commissioning activities, and project audits to ensure adherence to atNorth standards.
Drive training and development for site teams to enhance technical knowledge and operational efficiency.
Facilitate seamless project handovers from construction to operations, ensuring full compliance and documentation.
Lead process standardization efforts across Nordic sites to ensure a unified approach to mechanical excellence.
Support the FIN04 site in Kouvola with on-site presence during the initial phase.
Act as a key technical advisor within the Nordic SME network to drive continuous improvement.
Your profile:
Strong expertise in mechanical systems, specifically chillers, cooling technologies (evaporative/DX), and water distribution.
Proven experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning within mission-critical environments.
Ideally, significant working experience within the data center industry.
A strong educational background in mechanical engineering or a related field.
A proactive approach to team training, quality assurance, and process standardization.
Willingness to travel frequently across the Nordic region to support various sites.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with international, cross-functional teams.
Must be eligible to work in Finland and located within commuting distance of our Finnish sites.
