Energy Manager at atNorth
This role is positioned at the intersection of technical understanding, market insight, and commercial decision-making. You will not only monitor and analyse energy markets, but actively shape how we manage grid capacity, procurement strategies, and long-term energy risk exposure across our footprint.
Key responsibilities:
A key focus will be on building a stronger connection between Operations and Development, ensuring that energy considerations, such as grid availability, infrastructure constraints, and consumption dynamics, are integrated early into planning and investment decisions. You will act as a trusted partner to stakeholders across Operations, Data Center Development, and Finance, bringing clarity and structure to complex energy-related topics.
You will be responsible for driving scenario modelling and risk analysis, including sensitivity on power prices, volume assumptions, and contract structures. This includes strengthening our ability to make informed decisions on topics such as PPA structures, grid capacity agreements (DSO/TSO), and long-term sourcing strategies, always balancing cost, risk, and sustainability. From a commercial perspective, you will support pricing and contracting decisions, ensuring that energy procurement and portfolio optimization contribute to profitable and scalable operations.
Beyond the analytical and commercial aspects:
This role is about building stronger foundations. You will contribute to improving how energy data is structured and used across the organisation, ensuring that key metrics, assumptions, and contract data are robust, transparent, and integrated into financial planning. You will also support the development of tools, models, and dashboards that enhance forecasting, reporting, and decision-making.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with a more technical and operations-oriented background, who understands the realities of energy infrastructure and grid dynamics, and who can bridge that understanding with financial and strategic insight. Just as importantly, you bring a collaborative and pragmatic mindset, working closely with others to solve complex challenges and drive meaningful progress.
Your profile
· University degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Finance, Economics or similar
· 5+ years of experience within energy, infrastructure, utilities, or a related field
· Experience with energy markets, grid infrastructure (DSO/TSO),
· Strong analytical skills, including experience with scenario modelling and risk analysis
· Experience working with energy procurement, contracts, or PPA structures is an advantage
· Ability to translate complex technical and market data into clear business insights
· Experience working cross-functionally
· Strong data and system understanding; experience with modelling, forecasting, or BI tools is a plus
· Professional proficiency in English
You are analytical, structured, and comfortable working with complex data and uncertain scenarios. At the same time, you are pragmatic and solution-oriented, with the ability to balance detail with a broader strategic perspective. You are collaborative by nature, and you build strong relationships across functions, acting as a trusted partner rather than a gatekeeper. You take ownership, work independently, and navigate well in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Equally important you bring a high-impact mindset focusing on contributing to the overall success of the team and organisation, sharing knowledge and helping elevate those around you.
