About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Nordic Mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to play a key role in ensuring operational excellence across our data center sites in the Nordic region.
As the mechanical systems expert, you will oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of critical infrastructure systems, such as chillers, evaporative cooling, DX cooling, water distribution, emergency diesel generators, and fire suppression systems. You’ll also collaborate closely with teams to support design reviews, commissioning, and project audits, ensuring all projects adhere to atNorth’s standards and industry best practices.

You’ll also be responsible for facilitating seamless project handovers to the operations teams, ensuring compliance and system integrity.
At first, you’ll be spending a few days each week at the FIN04 site in Kouvola. Over time, you’ll need to travel there less often.
About You:
You are a technical expert in mechanical systems with extensive knowledge of data center infrastructure and practical field operations. You thrive in collaborative environments where your leadership and technical expertise can drive efficiency, standardization, and continuous improvement. You are adaptable and proactive, with the ability to balance hands-on tasks and strategic responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Strong expertise in mechanical systems, including chillers, evaporative cooling, DX cooling, and water distribution.
- Strong educational background.
- Proven experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
- Ideally working experience in the data center field.
- A proactive approach to team training, quality assurance, and process standardization.
- Willingness to travel frequently across the Nordic region.
This is a permanent role and candidates must be eligible to work in Finland as well as be located within commuting distance from our Finnish sites. Background check is conducted for all our employees.
