Engineering Subject Matter Expert – CSA at atNorth
Are you a seasoned engineering expert with a passion for delivering world-class data centre infrastructure? At atNorth, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of sustainable, high-performance data centres across the Nordics.
As the technical authority for Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) engineering, you will influence major business-critical projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring technical excellence, engineering integrity, and operational reliability at every stage.

Key responsibilities
Act as the technical authority and signatory for CSA engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and project deliverables.
Provide expert leadership across the full Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) scope throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure alignment and integration across all CSA disciplines, driving consistency, quality, and engineering excellence in project delivery.
Collaborate closely with Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP), Design Managers, consultants, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful multidisciplinary coordination and integration.
Develop and maintain CSA engineering standards, design guides, technical specifications, and best-practice frameworks across atNorth's data centre portfolio.
Review and approve engineering solutions, technical deviations, material selections, and design changes within delegated authority.
Support project delivery teams through design, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
Serve as the primary CSA technical advisor to hyperscale, enterprise, and colocation clients, translating business requirements into robust engineering solutions.
Evaluate emerging technologies, construction methods, and industry developments relevant to CSA design and delivery.
Provide technical mentoring and coaching to Design Managers and engineering teams, strengthening internal capability and knowledge sharing.
Contribute to long-term asset strategy, operational resilience, lifecycle planning, and continuous improvement initiatives across atNorth's infrastructure portfolio.
Your profile
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years of experience in CSA engineering and the delivery of complex infrastructure, mission-critical, or data centre projects, including progression into senior technical leadership roles.
Strong expertise in Civil, Structural, or Architectural engineering, with the ability and credibility to provide technical leadership and oversight across the entire CSA discipline.
Extensive experience delivering data centre engineering projects and a solid understanding of how CSA disciplines interface with Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) systems within critical infrastructure environments.
Deep understanding of data centre design, constructability, commissioning processes, and operational resilience principles.
Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices, including TIA-942, EN 50600, and other relevant engineering frameworks.
Proven experience acting as a technical authority, reviewing and approving complex engineering designs and technical documentation.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts effectively to both engineering and executive audiences.
A collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset, combined with the confidence to challenge, influence, and drive high engineering standards across multiple projects and regions.
Fluent English and willingness to travel across the Nordic region as required.
