Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) at atNorth

Join us at FIN02 Espoo as our electrical SME to become the key person for all things electrical on the site and more. As the site electrical system technical expert, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and oversight of electrical systems within our data centers.

This hands-on role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems and equipment, where you will oversee everything from maintenance and troubleshooting to project oversight and vendor management.

You will be a key technical resource, supporting both construction activities and operational excellence, while ensuring our infrastructure meets the highest standards of performance, safety, and compliance. You’ll also be part of our collaborative Nordic network of SMEs, driving continuous improvement across our data center footprint.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as the site technical expert for all electrical systems, including LV/MV distribution, UPS, and battery systems.

• Oversee electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality assurance to ensure 24/7 operational excellence.

• Lead and manage vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

• Support construction and expansion activities with technical oversight and project management.

• Ensure all electrical infrastructure meets applicable codes, standards, and atNorth’s internal safety programs.

• Act as a key collaborator across teams, providing technical training and support to local staff.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance electrical system scalability and efficiency.

• Participate in the Nordic SME network to share best practices and standardize regional operations.

Your profile:

• Extensive knowledge of Low Voltage (LV) & Medium Voltage (MV) power distribution, UPS, and battery systems.

• Strong understanding of electrical protection systems, codes, and industry safety regulations.

• Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and a valid S1 qualification.

• Proven expertise in troubleshooting, maintenance, and quality assurance of complex electrical systems.

• Experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and project leadership.

• Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and provide technical training.

• Proficiency in both English and Finnish is essential for this role.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for training and project oversight.
